Trudeau Finds Himself in Yet Another Legal Battle with his Premiers

Published:

Nothing is Equal

British Columbia is joining forces with Newfoundland and Labrador to take Justin Trudeau and his government to court over Canada’s broken equalisation payment system.

Premier David Eby dropped a truth bomb, accusing Trudeau of forcing hard-working British Columbians to bankroll services in Central Canada through unjust taxation.

He slammed the equalisation formula as “completely absurd” for transferring billions from the West to prop up Quebec and Ontario.

This surprising intervention dramatically escalates the growing discord between Ottawa and some provinces over equalisation.

Eby and Newfoundland’s Premier Andrew Furey are now on a collision course with Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government in a high-stakes constitutional conflict.

The road ahead will test the mettle of our leaders and institutions. Will justice and fairness prevail? Or will Trudeau and his cronies continue in their corruption path?

Trudeau and the Endless Legal Battles

It seems like Trudeau will spend most of his time in the very near future stuck in Canadian courts fighting battles pertaining to lack of integrity, corruption, greed, extortion, and all the wacky things he and the liberal establishment have been known for since their rise to power back in 2015.

News report that British Columbia has joined Newfoundland and Labrador in their legal battle that they are bringing right to Trudeau’s front door; A legal battle concerning incompetence and favouritism on the federal level through the corrupt equalisation program.

Trudeau is jumping from one legal battle and right on to the next.

But you should never feel bad for any person in a position of power that is using said position of power for personal gain and to satisfy his selfish greed, even in spite of millions of innocent Canadians suffering under their so-called valiant regime.

Trudeau tasted accountability for the first time ever, and defeat for the millionth time at the hands of the province of Saskatchewan and its just premier Scott Moe. And it was all the fault of Trudeau trying to force his costly and corrupt carbon tax scheme on the innocent people of Saskatchewan and trying to force them to pay increased and unjust taxes.

Now we find ourselves in the same position once again with Trudeau angering the premiers and getting challenged as a matter of principle and integrity.

Trudeau Lies about Equalisation

So what is this all about exactly? What do we need to understand here so we can get a grip on the recent happenings? Well first off, we need to understand the nature and the goal of the federal equalisation program.

The equalisation program – as the government’s own website and hub for information online describes it – is a program that was first conceptualised in 1957 and then subsequently entrenched in the Canadian constitution in 1982.

It is a federal program that aims to address the fiscal disparities between Canadian provinces and provide an equal playing field with a similar level of civil services and taxation all across the board.

It is supposed to be a huge step for a much fairer Canada that does not treat the people of one province any differently – whether it be better or worse – in comparison to other provinces.

Now the only question remaining is if this so-called equalisation program really made things equal for Canada’s provinces; and the answer is quite clearly a resounding “No, not even close”.

This is the dialogue that Andrew Furey -premier of Newfoundland and Labrador – has started recently as he took it upon himself to challenge Trudeau and the liberal establishment in a legal battle over the corrupt and broken equalisation system.

Andrew Furey spoke vehemently on the subject for a while now and he is gathering up the support of more disgruntled and slighted premiers to join him on his legal journey against Trudeau and his liberal cronies.

Premiers Against the System

In a recent interview held right after the meeting of all the premiers in Halifax to discuss how Trudeau and the liberal government are encroaching on their provincial duties despite not even giving them the time of day to hold a coordination meeting, Andrew Furey spoke about his legal battle with the federal government and how he thinks the equalisation program is a sham.

In his own words, the federal equalisation program has veered greatly from its intended purpose and it has been broken beyond belief for a while now. When provinces like Ontario or Quebec receive up to 150 billion dollars since 2010 while Newfoundland and Labrador receives zero dollars from the program, then you know something is afoot here and there needs to be a discussion about it.

Furey reiterates and explains once again that this is not a liberal versus conservative issue, it is an issue ingrained in the federal structure and it needs to be weeded out of the system.

Furey might be too nice or too subtle to say the quiet part out loud but if the issue is ingrained at the federal level then the issue is ingrained within the liberal party that is currently ruling at the federal level. It does not take a genius to put two and two together and realise the source of misery is the same one we all knew about for a while now.

And that’s why British Columbia is joining the fight against Trudeau and his corrupt equalisation program. Because as much as the federal government likes to preach and lie about the program being funded from general avenues of revenue including federal taxes and never through taking money directly from a province, reality has been starkly different.

Because according to David Eby – premier of British Columbia – the people of B.C. pay taxes into a central pot that only provinces like Ontario and Quebec make use of and utilise to its fullest.

B.C. is basically paying taxes to largely fund Ontario’s many programs and civil services when they clearly don’t need the extra help and the people of B.C. are struggling with day to day affordability.

Canadians are being robbed through taxation only for Trudeau and his liberal cronies to play a game of favouritism. This right here goes against the very essence of the proposed equalisation concept in the first place and that last time anyone had a discussion about reform for this program was in 2008.

Imagine how different the population density, the demographic, and even the economy has been in 2024 compared to 2008. Imagine that and tell me and all the disgruntled premiers that there doesn’t need to be a discussion about the subject followed with a complete overhaul to the program in order for it to be actually fair and balanced.
