Trudeau Senate Stacking Sets Stage For Constitutional Crisis

Published:

Transforming Independence Into Liberal Fealty

Seismic revelations uncover Trudeau’s unprecedented efforts to corrupt Canadian institutions for indefinite Liberal rule. Through manipulation unseen in modern history, the PM has systematically weaponized oversight bodies meant to serve Canadians into partisan tools dominated by his hand-picked loyalists.

Trudeau’s stacking of supposedly independent offices constitutes an authoritarian power grab that strikes at the heart of our democracy’s checks and balances, degrading their integrity solely to entrench his influence regardless of elections.

His schemes plant time bombs under the country, rigging the system to allow Liberal control long after his term.

From patronage appointments unbound by restraint to willful blindness towards abuses, Trudeau’s actions expose pathological, even dictatorial instincts utterly unbefitting the office he holds.

With so much now hinging on one man’s ambition, Trudeau emerges as a uniquely dangerous threat to the institutions critical for maintaining rule of law and accountability in government. The extent of his alarming overreach will soon come to light.

Trudeau Scheme Plants Time Bombs Under Canadian Democracy

In a shocking abuse of power, Trudeau now exerts direct control over a staggering 80% of Canadian Senate seats. This provides him influence long after his term ends, allowing the PM to cling to power indefinitely.

Today’s Liberal-stacked appointments entrench Trudeau’s stranglehold, creating a puppet upper house serving the PM over Canadians. After repeatedly manipulating supposedly independent offices, Trudeau aims for total dominance of our democracy’s checks and balances.

This authoritarianism deals a grave blow to Canada’s free institutions.

Trudeau’s promise to end partisanship and patronage in the Senate lies in tatters. Despite pledges of independence, his recent appointments overwhelmingly feature longtime Liberal loyalists. This blatant stacking exposes Trudeau’s disingenuous rhetoric about reforming the upper house.

The numbers reveal his brazen partisanship. A shocking 66% of Trudeau’s last 12 Senate picks boast clear Liberal ties through donations, work experience or political candidacies. This represents a drastic increase compared to previous intakes under his government.

Appointees like ex-Liberal MP Rodger Cuzner make a mockery of independence. Cuzner’s record as a partisan Liberal politician undermines claims he was chosen on merit, not loyalty. His appointment lays bare Trudeau’s true priority – rewarding allies, not impartiality.

Other selections showcase similar cronyism. Trudeau installed provincial Liberal cabinet minister Victor Boudreau fresh off working on a Liberal campaign. Big donor Mohammad Al Zaibak also gained a Senate seat after giving the Liberals tens of thousands. This is patronage politics as usual.

By stacking the Senate with political friends, Trudeau aims to extend Liberal influence regardless of next election results. His opportunistic maneuvering reveals an ends-justify-means mentality where retaining power overrides proper process. It corrupts supposedly non-partisan institutions.

Of course, Trudeau’s Senate infiltration mirrors his wider pattern of empowering loyalists. His inner circle brims with sycophantic former aides promoted to influential offices. Key advisors like Telford and Butts entered politics expressly to propel Trudeau’s ambitions. This sheltered PM stacks agencies with friends owing their status to his patronage.

This contradicts Trudeau’s lofty rhetoric about cleansing partisan ties through independent selection. In reality, his advisory board provides cover for the same old elite favoritism. Credentials matter less than connections under a PM fixated on control.

Trudeau’s Vow To Reform Senate Lies In Tatters Amid Patronage Frenzy

The sheer scale of Liberal appointees exposes the advisory board as ineffective window dressing. No serious review would churn out a two-thirds Liberal intake over 12 seats. This rubber-stamping makes a mockery of meaningful vetting in the name of independence.

Trudeau’s offenses extend beyond naked partisanship. Cynically claiming to reform the Senate’s image while debasing it through patronage erodes public trust. Canadians recognize this duplicity, where grand promises serve to mask self-interest. It deepens cynicism.

Equally corrosive is Trudeau brazenly exercising the very unaccountable appointment powers he decried in the past. The PM exhibits an insatiable lust for controlling institutions through cronies that overrides either principles or optics. It is authoritarian overreach dressed up as enlightenment.

Of course, the PM’s spokespeople robotically parrot his commitment to merit-based appointments despite the facts showing otherwise. Canadians are not fooled by transparent falsehoods contradicted by evidence. Such spin epitomizes this government’s tenuous relationship with truth.

Trudeau’s Senate machinations ultimately expose his self-serving mindset where wielding power matters more than purpose. Stacking committees, boards and agencies with loyalists expands his influence after elections. But it degrades faith in democracy.

After continuously proving his word means nothing, no Canadian can seriously believe Trudeau’s vague assurances on reform anymore. His systematic abuses invite the very abolition of the Senate. If he will not cleanse it, Canadians should erase this den of elite corruption altogether.

Whether in cabinet, the PMO or Senate, Trudeau exhibits a pathological need to install allies. Surrounding himself with friendly faces indulges his sense of entitlement. But it corrodes public service’s integrity and leads to groupthink. Ultimately, Trudeau prizes fealty over competence or diversity.

Furthermore, Trudeau’s unprecedented Senate stacking plants seeds of a constitutional crisis. With 70 personal picks soon dominating the 105 seats, he constructs a Liberal firewall to thwart Conservatives. This unelected upper house could obstruct the Poilievre mandate, plunging Canada into chaos.

Though supposedly independent, Trudeau’s appointees have already displayed their Liberal leanings. They gutted Conservative MP Dan Albas’ bill easing carbon taxes, exposing their partiality on critical issues. With a Liberal PM, this stacked Senate stayed quiet – but they could block a right-leaning mandate.

Such obstructionism would spark a crisis, with an appointed body defying Canadians’ will. Yet Trudeau’s supermajority ensures a deadlock under a Poilievre premiership. Having stripped accountability to party brass, these senators may act rampantly partisan with impunity.

Unlike previous eras, Trudeau’s “independent” picks lack even indirect accountability discouraging anti-democratic abuses. Before, senators had party ties restraining rogue actions that might embarrass their brand. But Trudeau’s appointees have no such deterrent.

The PM has sacrificed national unity on the altar of self-interest, believing his will supersedes that of voters or principles.

Canada’s unique system empowers the Senate to veto the Commons, unlike other Westminster models. With past PMs showing restraint, this rarely caused problems historically. But through unprecedented manipulation, Trudeau plants seeds of discord.

Trudeau either didn’t foresee this consequence or willfully embraced constitutional brinksmanship to hinder Conservative rule. Either explanation exposes his unfitness for high office. Canadians must halt this scheme threatening democracy’s delicate balance.
