Liberal MP Randy Boissonnault Finds Himself in Hot Water Again

Published:

Ethics Commissioner Opens the Investigation Again

Conservatives manage to score a huge win against the Trudeau liberals as the ethics commissioner reopened the investigation into Liberal Minister Randy Boissonnault’s shady business dealings.

The damning new evidence was so implicating and many that the ethics commissioner had to launch an unprecedented third probe into Boissonnault’s questionable and shady conduct, vowing to get to the truth once and for all and really know if it is a case of “autocorrect” or just another liberal minister getting exposed for his greediness. But I think we already know the answer.

All of these autocorrect mishaps, cryptic text messages, and sneakiness are worthy of the stupidest and most blatant liberal Bond villain.

But will justice finally prevail? Will the commissioner crack open the Liberals’ ethical egg to expose the rotten stench within? Only one way to find out.

Liberal MP Can’t Escape the Ethics Commission

To say the Liberals and scandals fit together like a hand in glove is to say the obvious and the pretty much agreed upon. It is like saying water is wet, or humans need to eat to survive, it is just a basic statement that we have unfortunately come to accept.

However, recent events surrounding the Minister of employment and workforce Randy Boissonnault take this simple notion to a whole new level.

A level that exceeds what is expected – which is a lot in the first place – and combines everything you know and hate about the usual liberal party antics and corruption.

You have greed, conflict of interest, lying, stealing, betrayal, and so much more. It is like a whole circus for the price of one sad clown show.

But perhaps there is some truth and justice in this world after all, because the ethics commissioner, Konrad von Finckenstein, has launched not the first, not the second, but the third preliminary probe into Randy Boissonnault’s shady business dealings during his time in office due to new implicating evidence coming to the light.

It’s the kind of recurring ethical misstep that one would think impossible for a party that boasts about integrity and proper governance. And this is the kind of response that Canadians would not be familiar with or expecting in the first place.

We are all accustomed to the fact that Trudeau and his liberal cronies will always get away with it in the end, at least until the next election when their seats are wiped out and replaced by common sense conservatives that will make sure they are held accountable for their misdeeds throughout the years.

But for all the people living under the rock or are just now starting to hear about the controversy as the conservatives aim for justice to prevail once and for all, let me give you a rundown.

Liberal MPs and Conflict of Interest

The controversy originated from a series of text messages that emerged in which Stephen Anderson, Boissonnault’s former business partner, persistently refers to someone named “Randy.” Not once, not twice, but nine glaring times – although the nine number includes new text that has been discovered recently and is what kickstarted the third ethics commissioner probe.

Suspiciously enough however, this same “Randy” was allegedly consulted right around the time Boissonnault was said to have resigned from his business role, and according to Anderson who is desperately trying to save his friend in the most pathetic fashion imaginable, every mention of “Randy” was nothing more than a mischievous autocorrect error. Even the ones where the context would not make sense if it was.

Imagine the odds! Surprisingly—or perhaps unsurprisingly—the ethics commissioner initially decided against launching a formal investigation. It’s hard not to question why that might be the case, especially when more damning evidence, in the form of additional text messages and publicly available information, surfaced last month. Liberal bureaucracy at its finest – slow and conveniently selective.

If you want to see it more in action look at how they allowed Stephen Anderson to lie to the ethics committee because the liberal MPs blocked the sensible conservative request to get him to swear an oath to tell the truth. But I guess that will be added to the increasingly huge pile of things that the conservative call for and turn out to be true in the end.

And let’s not forget the location slip-up. As Anderson mentioned “Randy” being in an office in Vancouver, where, lo and behold, Boissonnault just happened to be for a cabinet retreat.

Coincidences like these are almost too on-the-nose to dismiss. It’s almost painfully comedic—or tragic, depending on where your political sympathies lie.

These new messages and public record discrepancies have forced von Finckenstein to revisit the matter. He’s now demanded Boissonnault furnish phone records and screenshots of all communications for the newly surfaced dates.

Still Running Away and Obfuscating

The employment minister’s communications team has obviously staunchly maintained his innocence, but isn’t that always the script? There’s a saying for these kinds of situations you know: If it quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, it’s probably not autocorrect.

Why should we trust someone who will lie to all our faces when he is brought up to talk about the conflict of interest just to save his own friend’s ass. These people do not care about their actions or how they harm the integrity of our politics to Canadians. These people only care about themselves and themselves only.

But living in your ivory towers will get you to be hit with a severe case of ignorance. Your testimony will not make sense, your recounting of events will not hold up and you will get exposed by shit like your company’s linked in page.

This ongoing ethical saga surrounding Randy Boissonnault is yet another crack in the Liberal facade.

The numerous allegations and probes contribute to a growing list of missteps by Justin Trudeau’s administration. Autocorrect errors or not, the consistency with which Liberals find themselves embroiled in scandals is deeply concerning.

For a party that lauds itself on progressivism and ethics, the Trudeau government seems perpetually stuck in its own web of controversies.

And as the ethics commissioner restarts his probe, Conservative get a much deserved win against the greater liberal injustice and corruption.

Here’s to hoping this is the first of many more wins in the future.
